Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative brain disorder that affects over 5 million people worldwide. While 1 in every 100 adults over the age of 60 are affected by this disease, recently children as young as 2 have been diagnosed. Parkinson’s Disease causes the decrease of a neurotransmitter called dopamine, and is often characterized by symptoms such as slowed movement, tremor, and rigidity, but is associated with a multitude of symptoms and side effects. At this time, the cause and cure of Parkinson’s Disease are unknown. NeuroBoxing works to help those with Parkinson’s Disease live the healthiest and happiest life possible, while the fight to find a cure continues!
